Blurry Backgrounds

For my Baby Boy's Six Month Birthday*

*Please note, I 'm not really stuck on using alliteration with the letter B, this post title just worked out that way....though if you find alliteration fun you should read my friends comment on this post

I was practicing taking  pictures with blurry backgrounds, based on a photography lesson by

When I got these absolutely delicious pictures of C.

And since he is six months old today, I thought I would share this beautiful boy who has stollen my heart with the two people who read my blog rest of the world.

Here is his big brother (whom he happens to look like) wondering what the heck I'm doing with that camera.  He's a wonderer.

No wondering going on here.  Just pure unadulterated love.

Loquacious

My sweet girl is compassionate, fastidious, artistic, determined, and sometimes shy.  When we are at home she is frequently loquacious.

Here is a portion of our conversation this evening.  I was just finishing bathing C. and had S. put her feet in the tub since they had gotten a bit dirty while she was outside.  Here is the conversation that followed:

S:  I think this makes my legs feel better. (They were sore from riding her bike.)
Me:  Good (C. giggles as I dry his hair)
S:  What are you doing?
Me: I..
S:  Babies laugh different than us, I mean their laughs are cool, I mean they sound cute....right Mommy?
Me: Well...
S:  His hair is so cute like that.  Do we get to make strawberry jelly?  I meant to say jam, strawberry jam.
Me:  As soon as...
S:  Jam and jelly are different aren't they, I mean one is liquidy, right?  (All the while her little hands are flapping up and down like the little finch that she is.)

At this point I no longer attempt to respond since I have discovered that these questions do not really represent her desire to obtain information, but instead are a means of emptying her word bank that seems to be bottomless.  I know I'll miss all the chatter one day.  So most of the time I try to treasure it, but for this brief moment I am enjoying the hum of the refrigerator.

Rainy Day Fun

We've had a lot of rainy days this spring.  So the question is what do you do with two rambunctious boys on a rainy day?

Give them a big ball and an empty room....and let 'em loose.  How can you ask for more fun?

Can't you just hear the belly laughs?

Isn't that little brown eyed boy a just about the cutest thing you've ever seen?.  He looks just like his mama (my baby sister) and acts just like his daddy and big brother.

It appears he will be the only cousin young enough to hang with C.

I just want to squeeze him, but he won't stay still.  Shhh...Don't tell his mama he has his paci.

A Day at the Lake

We spent Mother's Day at the lake.

Ten minutes after we got there it started to rain.

So we stayed at the dock and ate guacamole and chips. (My mom loves color and jewelry which is a good thing considering her Mother's Day gift.)

The rain finally stopped so we put C in his little itty bitty life jacket.

Going out on the boat in a straight jacket wasn't his cup of tea.

So C and I stayed at the dock while everyone else went for a ride.  I have to say the dock was a good option since N was driving AND looking at the camera.

S finally decided to try her hand at the wheel.  She even pulled into the boat slip with no help from Grandpa.  I'm not sure I could do that.

Here are my sister and her "little boy" hanging out with my two oldest after a lovely day on the lake...rain and all.
