A Ring Sling Saga-A Lesson in the Lost Art of Customer Service

About a month ago I ordered a ring sling from Kim at www.kimzkreations.com.  Kim custom made this sling to fit me after we emailed back and forth to determine the appropriate length.  To make a long story not quite so long, Kim received this package back a little over a week after she shipped my sling.
Needless to say my sling was no where in site.  I hate to admit that I had the opportunity to purchase insurance on this package and chose not to.  I have had items shipped to me numerous times with no problems.  It didn't really occur to me that I may actually need insurance.

As soon as Kim realized what happened, she emailed me letting me know that she would remake my sling since it would take a while to get things sorted out with the post office.  She quickly made my sling and shipped it next day service.  My lovely sling arrived and we were soon able to put it to good use.
The best part about this sling is that it is made of a lightweight fabric called solarveil.  This fabric is a special weave that provides protection from the sun.  I bought it so that I would be able to go to the pool and have my hands free to help the big kids if they needed me.  It dries quickly so it is great for in the water.
I can also drape it over my fair skinned babe as he sleeps in the sunshine.
On this particular day I may as well have filled a large bucket with water and stayed home.  N spent most of his time filling this bucket, then getting in it, making all of the water slosh out, creating a need to fill it again.  It kept him quite busy.
S on the other hand spent most of her time gaining more and more confidence in the water.  I can't believe my little girl is on her way to being an independent swimmer.

So, after our lengthy ordeal with the post office I have learned a few things.  First always insure if it is an option.  Second Kim at Kimz Kreations provides unbelievable customer service.  She didn't have to replace my lost sling, but she voluntarily did so.  In addition she makes a great ring sling.  I have used two other types of slings and the difference in Kim's design is how she sews the fabric around the ring.  It is a unique design that makes the sling resting on my shoulder much more comfortable than the other slings I have used.  Thanks Kim!

Cool Hair Dude

School is out, so that means we get to spend more time with my sister and her family who live down the road a bit.
We had a blast with her and her boys at the Botanical Gardens the other day.  Her oldest son T. is the one with the cool hair.
I am told this is called a fauxhawk.  It is the result of a compromise between T. and his mom.  I'll let you figure out which one of them wanted the real mohawk.
T. is a born leader.  He is imaginative, energetic, and every bit as cool as his parents.
He is also a doting big brother to A.
A fun time was had by all.

Pickin' Strawberries

The other day we went strawberry pickin'.

You really can't beat eating strawberries right off the vine.

For the next few days we had pancakes with strawberries, french toast with strawberries, strawberry shortcake, ice cream with strawberries, just plain ol' strawberries, and we made strawberry jam.

Just For Fun

Just for fun I downloaded a trial of Light Room 2 for editing pictures.  Here are the first two pictures that I have edited.

This could become dangerous...now that I've figured it out!
