A Keeper

Nathan:  Now I can draw by myself and sometimes I bathe myself and brush my teeth really, really good by myself.

Me:  I know.  What am I going to do now?

Nathan:  Keep me.  But when I'm all growded up you can't keep me.

Too true.  Just don't grow up too fast.

What's that I hear?

This is an unusual week at our house.  Sophie is spending 6 hours a day at ballet camp.  Nathan is at VBS from 9:30 to 12:30...ALL WEEK!

Right now Caleb is sleeping.  There is something unsettling about this for me.  I have found myself in the kitchen spinning in circles not knowing where to start.  There are so many things to get caught up on that I am having a hard time deciding which is most important.

I think the most foreign aspect of this unusual time is the noise.  All I can hear right now is the little family of finches that have been visiting our bird feeder all summer (which I have failed miserably to get a picture of).

I'm going to "unplug," savor the quiet for a moment, and spend some time meditating on God's word.

Sope Creek

This is where we went the morning of the 4th of July. (I realize I'm bit late, but I like to keep you guessing.)
We loaded Caleb up in the backpack and took a hike to the creek.
The kids had fun playing in the water.
And there were a few interesting and fun nature finds.

Some less fun than others.

Fireworks photos and posts about other happenings in our lives will be arriving some time in the next century.

Fulfilling Desires

I've had this desire for the last month or so.  I finally fulfilled it.
Don't tell Daddy!

Not Me Monday

This is my first time participating in Mckmama's Not Me Monday blog carnival.  This is a  place to share all the things you are too embarrassed to admit that you did.  If you want to  join the fun click on the Not Me Monday logo above to get the scoop on how to play along.

I most certainly did not listen to a message my sister left on my voice mail and then start talking to her as if she were on the phone.  What kind of crazy person would do that?

It really couldn't have been me that found myself following a trail of poop from one of my unnamed children standing in my dining room to the origination point which was a large pile in the closet.

I was definitely not me that said "I don't have to clean boogers off the wall because I don't wipe my boogers on the wall."  Really, how gross is that.  Who would say that to their child no less.

I have to say I did not finally break down and do a Not Me Monday post because I didn't discover that Mckmama's birthday is not today which just happens to not be my birthday.
(I think with all of the negatives I didn't just confuse myself).

I didn't actually mentally accumulate Not Me ideas for the past several weeks so I could do this post...which I really and truely did not plan on doing today until aforementioned discovery.

Come on and share what you didn't do this week.

And Happy Birthday Mckmama!

Wacamole

Instead of guacamole, the kids say wacamole.  Guacamole, wacamole or whatever you want to call it, we made it from scratch tonight.  It didn't last long.

I miss it already.
